Goalkeeper Aaron Butcher progressed from the youth development programme to establish himself as Boston United’s number one during the second half of the 2008-2009 campaign.

Butcher played a key role in preserving United’s UniBond Premier League survival, bringing stability to the goalkeeping position which had been lacking in the first half of the campaign.

The Peterborough-based youngster joined the Pilgrims in 2007 from Peterborough United and he completed his scholarship with Boston two years later.

The youngster signed a new contract in the summer of 2010, having made five senior appearances during 2009-2010.
