Jim Rodwell (Chairman)

Jim Rodwell

Former Boston United defender Jim Rodwell returned to the club in February 2004, initially as caretaker-manager, before taking up the position of Director of Football in the new regime at York Street.

Rodwell took over the running of team affairs following Neil Thompson's departure from the club and he held the position until the return of Steve Evans in March 2004.

He oversaw four games during his tenure, culminating in one win, one draw and two defeats. Rodwell had originally joined Boston on a free transfer from Rushden and Diamonds in February 2002 and was a major part of the side which went on to win the Conference, being named as man-of-the-match in the season's finale at Hayes.

He had been with the Diamonds since May 1996 and had played a key role in their elevation to the Football League.

Rodwell remained a part of the United set-up until August 2002, after playing in the Pilgrims first three Football League games, before opting to return to the Conference with Farnborough Town.

He started the 2003-2004 season with Aldershot Town, before later switching to Havant and Waterlooville, prior to his return to York Street.

Off the pitch, Rodwell's biggest claim to fame is his appearance on ITV's 'Britain's Brainiest Footballer' when he clinched third position.

In June 2006, Rodwell stepped up to the role of chairman after Jon Sotnick left the club.
