Paul Ellender
Boston United skipper Paul Ellender has asked the Boston public to turn out in force for Easter Monday’s derby clash against Kettering Town at the Staffsmart Stadium.
United’s long-serving captain has issued a rallying call ahead of the Bank Holiday showdown (kick-off 3.00pm), with the Pilgrims aiming to record their first home victory since February in the process.
Ellender told bufc.co.uk: “It’s a big game for both clubs and with Kettering going for the league title, it should add an extra edge. We don’t have any titles to play for this season, but there is still plenty at stake and we will be going all out to win the game.
“We cannot guarantee that we will win the match, because Kettering are in great form, but the lads will give everything and hopefully that will be good enough to get three points.”
John Blackwell
Meanwhile, secretary John Blackwell expects the Easter Monday fixture to go ahead with no problems.
The snow which blanketed the pitch on Sunday morning has now melted and although the playing surface is wet, no major problems are anticipated.
The ticket office will open from 9.00am on Monday and any further updates regarding the state of the pitch will be available here on bufc.co.uk.
