Chris Wright
Chris Wright has rejoined Boston United to alleviate the goalkeeping crisis at the Staffsmart Stadium.
The 21-year-old former Arsenal trainee will embark on his third spell with the Pilgrims and is expected to make his third ‘debut’ against Kettering Town on Easter Monday.
He will replace rookie Aaron Butcher between the sticks, who had been left as the club’s only goalkeeping option following Simon Rayner’s recall to Blue Square Premier outfit Torquay United.
Wright initially joined the Pilgrims in the summer of 2005 but after just two senior appearances, he departed to join Bishop’s Stortford of Conference South.
Wright began his second spell with the Pilgrims in the summer of 2007, but left the Staffsmart Stadium in November, having kept three clean sheets in 10 appearances this season.
Reflecting on Wright’s return to the club, manager Tommy Taylor told bufc.co.uk: “We are delighted to have Chris back with us for the remainder of the season. Chris did really well at the start of the season and hopefully he can recapture some of that form during the final six matches.
“Our goalkeeping position has been chopped and changed all season, but hopefully this move will prove to be a positive one.”
