The Boston United ticket initiative, in conjunction with Paragon Print and Packaging, proved to be a massive success during the 2007-2008 campaign.
Hundreds of local youngsters from schools, youth football teams and other organisations have taken advantage of free tickets to watch the Pilgrims in action during the Blue Square North season.
The scheme has been co-ordinated by the club’s Football in the Community staff and enabled scores of youngsters to sample the matchday experience at the Staffsmart Stadium during the season.
Local schools have also taken part in the Fairplay Cup, sponsored by Paragon Print and Packaging. The event, staged at half-time during first team fixtures throughout the season, was won by Sibsey Free School.
Reflecting on the success of this season’s free ticket initiative, Football in the Community manager Nick Reeson said: "This season has seen over 1,300 extra children come through the turnstiles to support the Pilgrims.
“The response from the children in the local and wider community has been fantastic. We have had children attend not only from schools in Boston but also as far away as Bourne, Long Sutton and Crowland.
“We hope to build on the success of this season’s project and see more children next season having the opportunity to come and support Boston United. I can only thank Paragon Print and Packaging for their magnificent support for this initiative.”
Paragon Print and Packaging also sponsored the club’s under-18s team and Paragon representative Carole Mitcham presented the youth team player of the year award to Adam Millson on the final day of the season.
