New signings

Boston United got their pre-season training schedule under way on Tuesday evening — with around 20 players in attendance at RAF College Cranwell.

United’s nine senior players, resplendent in their new Vandanel training kit, were joined by prospective signings and a host of trialists as Rob Scott and Paul Hurst brought their squad together for the first time.

Among the players hoping to impress were former youth team players Alex Beck, Lee Beeson, Nick Jackson and Nathan Thompson.

Fellow former youth teamer Lewis Brooks is also hoping to catch the bosses’ attentions following his return from a spell in America.

Scott and Hurst combined fitness-based activities and ballwork throughout the session, which lasted around two-and-a-half hours.

Hurst told bufc.co.uk: “It was good to get everybody together for the first time and start work ahead of the new season.

“We have two weeks to prepare for our first friendly against Lincoln City and everybody is looking forward to that match.”

New signings Tyrone Kirk and Chris Wood officially put pen-to-paper after the session had been completed — and further recruits could follow later this week.
