Defender becomes seventh signing
Article Date: 3 Jul 2009
Shaun Pearson
Defender Shaun Pearson has put pen-to-paper to become Boston United’s latest acquisition.
The 20-year-old centre-half has joined the Pilgrims from UniBond Division One South neighbours Stamford.
The emerging defensive prospect enjoyed a fine season with the Daniels and won the players’ player of the year award at Wothorpe Road.
Pearson had joined Stamford in 2008 from Spalding United and is rated as one of the hottest properties in the region.
Working with the up-and-coming centre-half is a prospect that joint manager Rob Scott is relishing.
He told bufc.co.uk: “Shaun has all the attributes to become a top defender and we are really pleased to have secured his signature.
“Shaun has been highly-regarded at his two previous clubs and although this move represents a step up, we are confident he will perform in the Premier Division.”
Pearson is the seventh summer signing at The Jakemans Stadium, taking the first team squad to 10 players.
