Experienced campaigner Paul Raynor rejoined Boston United in February
2004 to take up the role of first-team coach, before being promoted to
assistant manager when Steve Evans returned to the club.
Raynor had initially been a part of the Pilgrims' Dr Martens
League-winning side in the 1999-2000 season, before departing during
the subsequent campaign.
He enjoyed a brief tenure as Hednesford Town manager following his
first exit from York Street, although he lasted only a matter of months
in the job before leaving the Pitmen.
Raynor's glittering professional career saw him start out at Nottingham
Forest, before going to spend spells with Bristol Rovers, Huddersfield
Town, Swansea City, Wrexham, Cambridge United, Preston North End and
Leyton Orient.
He then dropped into non-league spheres, where he played for Kettering
Town and Ilkeston Town, prior to his move to Boston. Raynor has also
spent time with King's Lynn, a side from whom he quit to rejoin United,
where he combined his playing duties with a coaching role at Sheffield
United.
In September 2006, Raynor abandoned the title of assistant manager to become club coach, alongside new recruit Colin Hendry.
