Football and coaching background: Lewis started his football
playing career with East Coast Juniors in Skegness and played for them
between the ages of seven to 16. While at this club, he had spells with
both Sheffield United and Lincoln City at youth level and also
captained Sheffield United when they played against Notts County, which
was a massive honour for him.
Lewis began coaching when he was doing his BTEC National Diploma in
sports science at the Giles School, Old Leake and within this course,
had to learn new skills of how to be a coach. During that course, he
had to go on work experience coaching lots of different sports in
different primary schools. Another part of that course saw him go and
complete his Community Sports Leader Award and was a successful part of
a team who arranged and coached in a local sports day for primary
schools to attend, therefore earning a Top Link Award.
Lewis has also done 115 hours voluntary coaching as part of his
Millennium Volunteers Award. After completing this course, he had three
months at Bedford University doing a degree in sports studies, before
realising that wasn’t the course for him and seeing an ideal
opportunity come up with Boston United Football in the Community in the
summer of 2005.
Away from work, Lewis likes to socialise with friends, going to music
concerts and he enjoys going to watch Boston United play and is
currently a season ticket holder in the Staffsmart Stand.
