Gareth Jelleyman
Boston United have completed their third outright signing of the summer following the acquisition of experienced full-back Gareth Jelleyman.
The 29-year-old has joined the Pilgrims for a third spell from Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Barrow.
The left-sided defender spent loan spells with Boston in 1998-1999 and 2004-2005 during his time as a player at Peterborough United — although he only made a combined total of nine appearances for the Pilgrims during those month-long stints.
The former Welsh under-21 international has since played for Mansfield Town, Rushden and Diamonds and AFC Telford United, before making 26 appearances for Barrow last season in the top flight of non-league football.
United boss Rob Scott told bufc.co.uk: “It is quite a coup to land a player of Gareth’s quality. We have bided our time and are delighted to welcome Gareth onboard.”
Jelleyman completed the relevant paperwork ahead of training on Thursday evening and is likely to feature against Belper Town at Christchurch Meadow on Saturday.
