The Staffsmart Stand
Staffsmart UK managing director Michael Chinn has asked bufc.co.uk to publish the following statement, explaining his decision to withdraw his continued sponsorship to Boston United.
The statement reads as follows:
“I have today written to Mr Jon Sotnick, chairman of Boston United, to
inform him of my decision to end, with immediate effect, all
Staffsmart’s financial backing of Boston United.
“This is a decision I have taken with great regret. However, I feel I
have no alternative but to do so. Since I have been a major sponsor of
Boston United, I have given the football club substantial sums and
intended to continue giving the club further financial support.
“I have taken this course of action due to unfounded and untrue
accusations of my company’s liquidity on the Boston United Supporters’
Trust website forum section, by two individuals, Mr Ian West and
predominantly Mr Mark Isaac. I have found these comments to be both
personally hurtful and also potentially damaging to my business.
“I am aware of the difficulties Mark Isaac has presented to Boston
United moving forward and can only believe that my company’s continued
high-profile support for the club will similarly render it a target for
his unwarranted smears.
“My reason for putting money into Boston United was an attempt in some
way to repay the community of this area, which has helped Staffsmart to
become a thriving and successful business.
“It is most unfortunate that the two so-called fans named above have
reduced me to taking such drastic action. I will continue to support
Boston United as a fan and I wish the football club every success in
the future.
“I look forward to seeing us beat Lincoln City tomorrow.
“There will be no further comment from myself.”
End of statement.
