James Thorold (Apprentice Coach)
James Thorold
Qualifications: FA "first 4" Sport level one coach, FA Emergency Aid Certificate, FA Child Protection and Best Practice Certificate.
Football and coaching background: James started
playing football at the age of 10. He played for Spalding under-11s and
captained them to the league title. When James was 16, he went for
county trials for Lincolnshire. At the age of 14, he decided to take
the FA referees course. In 2006, James was lucky enough to be promoted
from level seven to level six and he now stands as the highest level
referee in Lincolnshire for his age.
At the age of 15, he started playing men's football for Spalding and he
then went on to win the league and gain promotion to Division One.
James' hobbies include going out with his mates and he has just taken
up the game of golf. He also enjoys kicking a ball around down the
park.
